Edgardo Quintanilla

Attorney Edgardo Quintanilla is a member in good standing with the State Bar of California. He is an experienced U.S. Immigration Law attorney and a member of the AMERICAN IMMIGRATION LAWYERS ASSOCIATION (“AILA”).

Since June 1993 to the present, his legal practice has been devoted to representing individuals and families seeking citizenship or legalization of their immigration status before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (“USCIS”), and to defend individuals and their families in removal proceedings at various Immigration Courts in the United States and in appellate proceedings before the Board of Immigration Appeals and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Mr. Quintanilla’s legal precedents are Matter of M-F-O-, 28 I&N Dec. 408 (BIA 2021), Matter of Alvarado, 26 I&N Dec. 895 (BIA 2016), Iturribarria v. INS, 321 F.3d 889 (9th Cir. 2003), and Jacinto v. INS, 208 F.3d 725 (9th 2000).

Since he began practicing law, Mr. Quintanilla has done pro bono work for various organizations, including CHIRLA, EL RESCATE, PUBLIC COUNSEL, ASOCIACION HONDUREÑA DE LOS ANGELES (“AHLA”), and at AILA community events.

From 1995 to 1996, he was the legal director of the CENTRAL AMERICAN RESOURCE CENTER (“CARECEN”), a non-profit, in Los Angeles. In the late 1990s, Mr. Quintanilla served on the boards of the LEGAL AID FOUNDATION OF LOS ANGELES (“LAFLA”), the EL SALVADOR-CALIFORNIA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, and the MEXICAN AMERICAN BAR ASSOCIATION (“MABA”) of Los Angeles.

From 1998 until 2023, Mr. Quintanilla served as a pro bono arbitrator of attorney-client fee disputes for the Attorney Client Mediation and Arbitration Services (“ACMAS”) for the LOS ANGELES COUNTY BAR ASSOCIATION (“LACBA”).

Mr. Quintanilla is a graduate of Whittier College School of Law in Los Angeles. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and a teaching credential from California State University at Los Angeles. Before attending law school, Mr. Quintanilla was a teacher at Belvedere Junior High School in East Los Angeles and worked as an ABA-accredited paralegal with PUBLIC COUNSEL in Los Angeles.
